My best friend is amazing. His name is James. He is the most supportive person I have ever met.
He is the best friend a person could ever ask for. My best friend is my husband.
And he will always be my best friend.
(Everyone, this is James say hi!)
But I think we should start from the beginning.
We met back in 2009. We both worked at a grocery store called Maceys.
He was my supervisor, and I was just a dorky courtesy clerk.
We met through a mutual friend who also worked at Maceys. The story on our first
real conversation is actually pretty funny. Not the one that went, "Who is Chelsey A?" Me: "I am..?" "Oh hi newbie." Yeah, that wasn't a good move on his part. I did not like being called a newbie one bit ha ha.
I actually didn't really care for him right at first. I thought he was a stuck up jock. But that all changed.
Anywho.. here is the real story on how we first met. Our mutual friend we'll call him "Billy" okay?
One day while at work I was bagging for Billy, when all of the sudden he decided that he wanted
me to meet his awesome friend JC (James, everyone calls him JC except me.. I don't like it ha!)
He kept saying you should talk to him, he's really cool and was way talking him up.
But, I couldn't meet this friend in a normal way. No it had to be with some sort of a joke behind it.
So Billy came up with this "brilliant" plan/joke that we would start a rumor
(Rumors always went around..it was DRAMA city.)
That I was dating this kid named Marshall. So Billy decided that we needed to get another person in
on this rumor to make it seem more real. So who do you think he called over? James (JC) yup.
So we started this rumor.. and that's another story. But needless to say this rumor is what got
James and I to start talking and to start dating ha ha.
Our first date was supposed to be to Lagoon an amusement park. Well, it wasn't supposed to really even
be a date. It was supposed to be "a bunch of Maceys buddies." But it wasn't it was turned into a date.
And I knew it was a date when he said oh hey don't worry about buying a ticket I bought you one.
But James couldn't wait one more day to take me on this date so he called me on up and
asked me if I would like to go on date before our date. Ha ha, what a nerd.
But of course I agree'd. Our first date was miniature golfing or as some say put put and ice cream
down at the BYU Creamery. Which lead to a medium sized walk around campus. Needless to say
after the first date is was GAME OVER... Although our first kiss wasn't until our second date.
Which was the next day. Ha ha. It was an all day date, which I didn't mind one bit!
He then attended my high school graduation with my friend Sabrina. And also my senior all night party.
I decided not to attend the one at school and have a small get together with my buddies.
A total of four people. Counting me ha ha. I did say small.
(After I got all graduated..)
When I graduated we had only "really known" each other for one week. But needless to say, I was already
head over heals in love with him. Yep, I/we moved quick. On the night of my graduation at my party
James took the opportunity while we were by the fire to tell me that he loved me. I looked at him with awe and did what every girl does.. ha not really I laughed. And it took me about 10 minutes to say it back because I was in complete shock. I knew I loved him, but wasn't sure if he felt the same way because like I said it happened really fast. But once he said it, I just knew.
(My senior party.. Also the first time we said "I love you." I believe this was taking shortly after
I had replied back ha ha.. hence the smiles.)
A few weeks later James left me.. :( He went and served a full-time mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. It was the longest and hardest two years of my life. But they were also filled with many blessings due to his decision to serve a mission. I am so proud of him and I am eternally grateful for his decision to do so. It has made me a better and stronger women. It also helped strengthened our relationship and we were able to really get to know each other. Spiritually and all other ways without the physical part of a relationship. But I do have to say, it did feel good to be able to hug him again after two years!
Did I mention he served in the Ghana, Cape Coast mission. Which is in Africa.
(Here he is on his mission.. as you can tell he's working real hard.. ;) Totally kidding,
I think it was a P-day [which is missionaries "day off"] or something.)
Anyways, James returned after serving a full-time mission (which is two years..) in Africa.
We dated for another 6 months before we were engaged. He popped the question on December 22nd, 2012 at Trafalga mini golf. He picked there because of our first date, and it's something we used to do all the time. He made it snow and got down on one knee and said some cute things and asked me to marry him.
One of the BEST days ever. :) Also the longest day ever. But that's okay, I got to spend it with him.
(This was our engagement picture that we sent out with the invites.)
We were married on April 26th, 2013 in the Mount Timpanogos Temple American Fork, Utah
It was the best decision I have ever married when I said yes to marry him and love him for eternity.
I wouldn't of changed anything. I am the luckiest girl alive.
(Ta-DA! We're married..!)
We went on our honeymoon to St. George, Utah. It was the best trip ever.
Filled with lots of fun activities from bowling, to eating junk food and going to museums.
(ha ha, yep sex included DUH! Come on I know you were thinking it..)
(I took pictures at our honeymoon but.. I don't know where that memory card is ha ha!
So here's a picture from our second date when he got home from his mission!)
(And here's one of us at Disneyland which was like our "second" honeymoon.
If you want to know that story just ask ha ha!)
Like I said before, my husband is my best friend. I can go to him about anything and everything. He is always there no matter what. He has been since day one. He's the most supportive person I know. He loves me unconditionally and I love him. He is my entire world. I'm so glad that he is in my life and I'm so blessed to be able to call him my husband. I am the luckiest girl alive. I married the most amazing man ever. I love him more than anything. And I am glad he is my best friend.
(Our wee little family!.. Also our first "family" picture taken)
(One of our many adventures. I believe this was to see the Christmas lights at
Temple Square in Salt Lake City, Utah)
(This is one of our many favorite activities to do together. BYU (Brigham Young University)
Basketball games. It's something we both love and have a fantastic time with! GO COUGARS!)
(This is our song!! :) Yay.)
