Goodbye.....

Well it finally happened. My parents moved. It was a bitter-sweet moment. I knew it was going to happen eventually that they wouldn't stay there forever. It just didn't work for them anymore. My mom needed everything to be on one floor because she is having a harder time doing stairs and they needed to be closer to family. It was just difficult to say goodbye to my childhood home in which I lived until I got married. 21 years to live somewhere is a LONG time! I loved this home so much and I have so many memories here. Good, bad, sad and hilarious memories. Today I would like to share some of my most favorite memories with you all. These are the memories that I will forever remember. I just hope the new people have just as many good memories as I do!

This is the house I grew up in. It wasn't always with a red garage door and front door but I remember when my mom had them painted because she wanted a fun pop of color and she loves red! I also remember the many, many picnics as a family under the tree on a blanket. I remember doing them with Seth and Chloe and Nico also. It was fun. We were able to play with chalk, ride our bikes or my purple scooter, play with Toby, sometimes even friends all while we were able to eat too and enjoy. We had many family home evenings out there too.

This might seem like an odd picture.. but that is my old bedroom window. And yes, there is a funny memory about it. STORY TIME! When I was in high school (I think I was a junior?) it was late at night and I was sound asleep when all the sudden I got a phone call from my brother. He asked me if I knew why this certain boy was dancing outside our home? I had NO idea what he was talking about. My brother couldn't sleep and was cleaning his room. He went outside to throw away some garbage when he caught this boy being weird in our driveway. The boy then looked at my brother and ran off all awkwardly and hid behind his car before he drove off. HA! I don't think he was too ashamed that he got caught either. But the next day we found out that he was not dancing in my driveway but he was THROWING pennies at my bedroom window! Which he actually ended up cracking.. and that crack was on there until my parents put their home up for sale. That story will always make me laugh!

Yes, this light in fact does have a memory. I'm not sure if I should share this one or not.. my mom does read my blog. But it is too good not to share! My good friend Jenn was sleeping over for a whole week while her mom and step dad were in Vegas for their anniversary I believe. Well we thought it would be a good idea to sneak out of the house.. well the side light ALWAYS popped on and I'm sure it shined into my parents bedroom window. So on top of our good idea of sneaking out we decided to cover the light so they couldn't see with Jenn's jacket! HA! Smart ones. Well needless to say.. her jacket caught on fire and burned a hole in it. *SIDE NOTE: the jacket was also her sisters that she was borrowing! ha!* So she ended up buying her a new one. It was such a funny moment!

This is my parents peach tree! It grows some of the BEST peaches around town. They are always so big, beautiful and of course so juicy and delicious! But this spot is so much more now. This is where my sweet puppy Toby is buried. After he was buried there after we had to put him to sleep I often would go and visit him with my exciting news (like when I got engaged!) but also when I was sad and I would just talk to him. Just like the old day. Toby was my best friend! I sure do miss that little dog. Funny story.. my nephew told my mom that they needed to dig up the peach tree and Toby and take it with them to their new house. I agreed.. but they didn't. So Toby still lays at our home.

This was my parents living room. Where we often gathered to play games, do puzzles and crafts, watch the Super Bowl and of course where we celebrated Christmas! In that corner is where the tree ALWAYS was. The fireplace you can see has some memories too. Me and my best friend Sabrina decided to become "models" and dress up and model by the fireplace with it on.. in the middle of the summer.. it got HOT! ha ha!

This room was the playroom. On the wall under the window sat an futon which is now in mine and James' basement. This is the room where I had all my sleepovers with my friends Sabrina, Kirsite, Jenn, Nicole and Melissa. I have so many different memories in this room. But my most fond memory is the one I shared with my family! My mom was having Bunco at our home and my dad, brother, nephew, nieces and I all hung out downstairs and watched Space Jam! But that's not all.. we all wore basketball jerseys! It was so much fun to share that special bonding memory with them all!

And lastly. This was my second bedroom. I got it after my sister moved out! Thanks Whitney! Ha ha! Which it was painted A LOT. Pink, purple and bright blue. Which my mom couldn't stand and as soon as I moved out she painted it a soft yellow color. This room is where I played barbies, with my bears, dressed Toby up and made him my baby. It is also where I played pretend all the time. I was always and actress in a very famous play and I was the star of course. I could sing, dance and act! Speaking of dancing.. this was most used for my dance studio! I would turn up the music as loud as I could and dance my little heart out. It drove my family nuts! But it made me so happy!! This is also the room I broke my bed from "not" jumping on it... yeah, I didn't fool my parents one bit! This is also the room that I lost the door to from lying and being a horrible child. Sorry mom and dad! I cried in here, got mad in here, laughed in here and this is where I have the best memories. It was my room!

I have loved this house so much! I am going to miss it but I am incredibly excited for all new memories to be made in my parents new home. And like I have always said, home is where ever my mommy and daddy are! Thanks mom and dad, Whitney, Phillip and all of my wonderful friends for all the fantastic memories that we all shared in this home! You all are what made this home a home and so so special. I am very grateful to all of you and I love each and every one of you so much! And now, I would like to say one final goodbye to my childhood home. You were great, you hold a lot of love and memories. Thank you for always keeping us safe and providing years and years of memories. I love you always and forever!!

The Mr. Turns 25!

On June 13th the Mr. celebrated his 25th birthday!! For his birthday we went to the aquarium down in Utah (we were down there to help my parents move) and we also went to one of his favorite restaurants Mi Ranchito. It was such a lovely day to be able to celebrate the birth of such a wonderful person! I am sure glad that he was born. Ha! I love James so much and I am so grateful that he is my husband! But enough about that.. let's get to the pictures and more about our trip to the aquarium.

This was mine and James first visit to the new Living Planet Aquarium and we were so glad that my parents accompanied us. They decided they needed a little break from cleaning and moving and they wanted to help celebrate James' life! Thankfully there was someone nice enough to take a picture of us all. It's rare when we get pictures together so it's nice when we get them!

Of course we had to get our own picture hugging the beloved whale! Ha ha! Aren't we just so cute?

We had a lovely time posing with the poisonous dart frogs. Thankfully they liked us so they didn't hurt us. Isn't the Mr. just so handsome? I love taking pictures with him and of him.

Look how cute this little frog is.. but not too cute.. because it could probably kill me. But they sure are nice to look at behind glass! Ha!

James was the only one brave enough to go across the rope bridge. The rest of us were all chickens! James said it reminded him of Ghana and the bridges that he wanted to go across and if we ever go there he plans on going there.. and I suppose I will be going with him. Maybe I should of toughened up and went across this one.. just in case.

Ta-da! He made it across all in one piece. Look at him rockin' his BYU shirt.. like always. The rope bridge went across a fake river below that held some little baby fishes.

This was my favorite bird that we saw. He talked to me kept saying hello and he even whistled at me. I think I found myself a boyfriend. HA! Isn't he so cute?

My personal favorite at the aquarium was of course the otters. They are so freaking cute and very fun to watch! Man can they swim super fast and like crazy.

I'm so glad that James chose to go to the aquarium. It was a blast!! I loved being able to see all the fun animals but most of all I loved being able to celebrate my hubbys day! Happy birthday again James! Sure glad you were born. I love you very much and I am extremely lucky to be able to call you my husband! Hope you day was fantastic.

Sneak Peek Continued!

Well here are the updated pictures! Taken today! Hope you enjoy the continued tour of the outside of our home.. and you get to see what it currently looks like! Hip, hip hooray!
Like I said I keep adding things to our flowerbed. I want it to eventually be filled to the brim with flowers!! I love them and they make me happy.. AND I hate weeding soo.. I found hopefully a better solution ha ha!

This cute little guy was just added to our flower bed thanks to James grandpa! He's so cute. And of course Miss Nico (my niece) loves him too ha ha.

So this is how we started before we finished taking down the ramp. It was nice for when we moved in because we could just walk straight in BUT, it was not our taste and it closed things up too much!

This is in the process of taking it down and getting ready to build some steps. It was already looking so much better and we were getting more and more excited! Thanks to the family for coming up and helping!! I made everything go much faster!!

And TA DA! And now we have stairs!! They look so much better and I love them!! It's funny when you get older the things that you get excited about and love ha!

Doesn't our cute little home look a lot better now? We are sill getting there but it is a work in progress and with every little thing we do it gets looking better. It's a fantastic feeling!! I love our home and I can't wait to continue making it pretty!

And even our porch is getting pretty! Thanks mom and dad for our cute little bench! Eventually (hopefully soon..) I am going to be painting it Pineapple Yellow. I am so excited. It's nice to be able to sit out on our porch at night when it's cooled down.

Well, there you have it! The progress of our home. Hope you enjoyed it and love it as much as we do! Thanks again for coming on this journey with us.

Sneak Peek: Making Our Home Pretty

Well today's post is LOOONG over due. But hey here it is.. late AS always. (sorry about that.. but you know life gets busy!) James and I have been working super hard at getting our house all ready and just the way we like it (this is why I haven't really shown any pictures yet..) and we recently got the outside looking pretty darn good! These pictures are a little older and hopefully tomorrow I will post updated ones. YAY! But enough of me blabbing.. lets get onto these pictures!

When we moved in they had a huge rock pond and rock garden which I HATED it. they also had a railing that went all the way around on the side to match our lovely boardwalk that also had a railing which we took down. (We still need to fix the rain gutter so part of the railing is still up..)

So I posted on Facebook that I had lots of rocks for free if they hauled. Well they went SUPER quick! They cleared out my rock pond very quickly! It was nice to not have to haul any of those darn rocks. Well at least not very far. And they went to a good home ha! The lady that took them needed them for her pond and waterfall. So I'm glad that someone could use them. Thank goodness.

Once those rocks were gone our good friend hauled us a truck load of dirt to fill in the holes! So now we have a dirt pile that Maggie, Ollie and Edwin love to play in.. and probably use as their bathroom facilities also. (TMI?)

Along the side of our home there were also a TON of rocks that covered everywhere.. and it was so full of weeds. Thankfully those people also took most of these rocks! WAHOO!

And after that it looked like this.. but a few more weeds because I didn't think to take a picture before I started the weeding process. Thankfully the weeds came up fairly easy! But it was a long day that's for sure. I was trying my hardest to get it all done before the Mr. came home from work. I ALMOST succeeded.

The side of  our house also had rocks along it and they got most of them but as you can tell some where left behind which was A-OK with me because I ended up using them anyways.

So now here we are.. (a not updated picture) of what it looked like after it was weeded and just planted and new mulch! It makes me so happy every time I look at it. I think this little flower bed make our home look more like a home and not a trash can. Ha ha! Although.. it would fit in with my neighbors. Shh... I didn't say that.

On the side of the house we put some rocks for where we can put the hoses to help them look better and not get so dirty! We also put wood chips along the side to help keep out some of the weeds. We have Morning Glory like CRAZY! UGH.

At first I put some pots with peppers, basil and lettuce on the side but that has now changed. Like I said hopefully tomorrow there will be some updated pictures ha! We have changed it a lot already.

James was super excited because he was able to play with the big boy toys and smooth out the dirt and make it look pretty! Now if we would just put the grass seed down..

PS. This is an "updated" not really updated picture of some more flowers that I added awhile ago. I have now added even more.. but hey.. what can I say you're getting a full preview. Ha ha!
Thanks for coming along on this little journey with us. I hope you enjoyed! What part of our house would you like to see next? Leave your answer in the comments below!
